What is the Rescue Party Tour?
The Rescue Party Tour is a Local Animal Rescue Group Expo/Film Festival that will be coming to 120+ communities across the United States and Canada from June 2009 to June 2010. Rescue groups (in each community) are able to join the tour. The Rescue Party Tour will feature the multi-award winning documentary Tom McPhee's An American Opera: The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever! and a portion of the proceeds will go back to the local animal charities and rescues in each of the communities. Rescue groups will also be able to join the tour and set up tables with information at the screening. Filmmaker Tom McPhee will be at each screening for a meet and greet beforehand and a Q&A afterwards. Back to top

Tom McPhee's An American Opera: The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever! is a visceral, operatic vision of what happened to the pet owners of New Orleans who were forced to evacuate after Hurricane Katrina without their beloved pets, and the volunteers who came from all over the world to help. America suffered its worst domestic animal crisis in history when tens of thousands of animals were left to perish in neighborhoods all across the gulf. This heartfelt story follows the pets, vets, owners, officials, rescuers, and adopters of animals as they work through the chaos to do what is right, only to discover not everyone is working toward the same goal.

What is the Gimme a Shelter Film Festival?
The Gimme a Shelter Film Festival is for young filmmakers age 12-20. We are looking for 1-3 minute videos on animal/pet issues that can be screened before Tom McPhee's An American Opera: The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever! in your community and, possibly, throughout the entire Rescue Party Tour. What is a promo code?
A promo code is given to rescue groups who have partnered with the Rescue Party Tour. They advertise the code to their friends and supporters for the screening in their area. Every time their promo code is used to buy VIP tickets, $10 of the ticket goes directly to that rescue group. Call or email our favorite, local animal organization before you buy tickets to get their promo code. Back to top

If you have at least 8 hours to spend before the Rescue Party Tour arrives in your town we want to hear from you! We have our Street Team do anything from putting up posters, handing out postcards, going to other pet-centric events, and talking to media, businesses, and rescue groups. A few of our more motivated Street Teamers have even organized whole Rescue Party Tour location stops!
